What background was most represented in West Bolivar Consolidated School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 94% of the 930 students enrolled in West Bolivar Consolidated School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 9.9% decrease from the previous school year.

McEvans School had the highest enrollment in the district with 407 students.

A snapshot of West Bolivar Consolidated School District schools showed 94% of students were Black and 1.2% white.

West Bolivar Consolidated School District roughly covers three schools and has a main office in Shaw.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
