What background was most represented in North Bolivar Consolidated School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 71.1% of the 843 students enrolled in North Bolivar Consolidated School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

Northside High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 362 students.

A snapshot of North Bolivar Consolidated School District schools showed 71.1% of students were Black and 28.9% were multiracial.

North Bolivar Consolidated School District roughly covers three schools within Bolivar County and has a main office in Mound Bayou.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
