Enrollment by Ethnicity: Black was most represented background in Leflore Legacy Academy schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 92.8% of the 195 students enrolled in Leflore Legacy Academy schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

Leflore Legacy Academy had the highest enrollment in the district with 195 students.

A snapshot of Leflore Legacy Academy schools showed 92.8% of students were Black and 7.2% were multiracial.

Leflore Legacy Academy roughly covers one school within Leflore County and has a main office in Greenwood.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
