Enrollment by Ethnicity: Black was most represented background in Greenville Public School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 91% of the 3,668 students enrolled in Greenville Public School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 12.5% decrease from the previous school year.

Greenville High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 846 students.

A snapshot of Greenville Public School District schools showed 91% of students were Black, 0.3% were white, and 0.3% multiracial.

Greenville Public School District roughly covers 11 schools and has a main office in Jackson.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
