Today on Juneteenth, Mayor Errick D. Simmons served as the keynote guest speaker at Mt. Horeb MB Church Annual Father’s Day Program.
Mayor Simmons stated, in pertinent part, “Strong Fathers steady, they guide, they protect, and they anchor the family. We need strong fathers who have strong faith to build strong families. Strong fathers who have strong faith, strengthen families, but also build safe, sustainable communities.”
Simmons thanked and saluted all fathers by wishing each of them “Happy Father’s Day”. He also specially thanked Pastor Calvin, pastor of Mt. Horeb, for not only his spiritual leadership and service in pastoring the oldest black church in Greenville but also his spiritual guidance and support for Simmons’ mayoral administration and the entire city.
