Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative Co-Chair Mayor Errick D. Simmons join MRCTI staff for a meeting at White House and congressional meetings with key stakeholders regarding the SMRT Act, earmarks, and technical assistance for Jobs Act grants. There were also meetings with Sustainable Agriculture and WWF regarding continued partnership on the work.
Mayor Simmons attended the Ducks Unlimited Capital Dinner in Washington, DC as honored guest. The President of Ducks Unlimited acknowledged and honored him and Co-Chair Mayor Jim Strickland of Memphis as leaders in DU work with MRCTI in front on over 20 members of Congress and hundreds of special guests from across the nation.
