During the first quarter of 2026, Mccomb Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LLC was among the third largest nursing homes in Lee County, sharing this position with Cedars Health Center, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) show.

The facility offered 140 beds, which is six more than the county average for the same quarter, and provided care for an average of 105.3 residents over that period.

The CMS assigned Mccomb Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LLC an overall rating of 2 out of 5, which is below Mississippi’s nursing home average rating of 2.7.

Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center led the county with 230 beds, while Manhattan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LLC was second with 180 beds available that quarter.

Lee County, Mississippi, had a total of seven for-profit nursing homes during this time.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate that the population of adults 65 and older in the U.S. is increasing as younger groups decline in number. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and older grew by 13%, while those under 18 decreased by 1.7%. The older adult demographic in the U.S. has risen sharply since 1920, expanding from 4.9 million to more than 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 report estimates that nearly half of this population—about 28 million people—may require long-term services and support. Over one-third are projected to need nursing home care in the future.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
