Enrollment by Ethnicity: Black was most represented background in Sunflower County Consolidate School District in 2023-24 school year

Of the 2,863 students enrolled in Sunflower County Consolidate School District in the 2023-24 school year, 77% were Black, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.2% decrease from the previous school year.

Among the 10 schools in the district, Gentry High School had the largest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year.

A snapshot of Sunflower County Consolidate School District’s student body showed that 95.7% of students were Black, 2% were Hispanic, 1.5% were white, and 0.9% were multiracial.

Mississippi’s schools, with an enrollment of 436,523 in the 2023-24 academic year, are mostly divided between two ethnicities, with Black or African American students being the largest racial group at 46.86%, followed by white students at 42.14%.
